Thai Public Broadcasting Service (Thai PBS) is Thailand’s first public broadcasting service.
It is established by the Thai Public Broadcasting Service Act, BE 2551 (2008), which came into force on January 15, 2008. Thai PBS is committed to active and informed citizens of the society with its diverse educational and entertainment programs while strictly abiding by the code of ethics that ensures fair, balanced and impartial news coverage.

The responsibility of safeguarding the independence of Thai PBS rests with the Board of Governors, the policy-making body who sets the strategic direction of Thai PBS and oversees its operations. Its Board of governors is elected through an independent process and serves a four-year term. The composition of the Board of Governors is designed to encompass a wide range of expertise and backgrounds, including the media, management, community development, children and family welfare.
